Questions answered about Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services

Categories: Uncategorized

Merry Christmas Everyone!

There have been a number of questions surrounding our Christmas Eve (12/24 @ 6pm) and Christmas Day (12/25 @ 10am) services. Are they going to be the same? Can we come to both? Do I have to bring Troy a present? These are all great things to ponder—let me see if I can help.

Christmas Eve will be a wonderful family friendly event with childcare for kids 2 and under. The service will likely run a little shorter, will feature an extra song or two, will have a few more friendly voices reading scripture, and a shorter message from me. We will conclude our service with communion and a candlelight element as we reflect upon the meaning of the wonderful time of year.

Our Christmas Morning service will feel a little more like what you may come to expect from our usual services, although, perhaps with a little more energy. We will spend the morning celebrating God with us and the community that we have in light of this child that has been born. Childcare will also be available for kids 2 and under.

The services are going to be similar, but they are not going to be identical. Christmas Morning will have a couple of different songs and a longer Christmas message. Christmas Eve will be more low-light, contemplative, and centered around the story being told. And No, you do not need to bring Troy presents. I hope this helps!

Blessings,

Mike Skelton
