LCC Kids Update - November
Can you fathom the idea that it's already November? That means Christmas is not far off! Beginning November 2nd and continuing through December 21st, our Children's Worship kids will be embarking on an advent celebration. These 25 devotions are from The Advent Jesse Tree, a count-down to Christmas that traces the heritage of Jesus Christ from the beginning of creation through his birth. My family has done this with our kids (as have several other church families) in the past and have found it to be a meaningful time to remember that God had planned our way of salvation - Jesus - before the beginning of time. Be sure and ask your child what he/she learned each week - they might enlighten you!
My family has a lot of celebrations in November that we look forward to, but especially Thanksgiving. Not only is it a time to slow down and just be - whether around the table, the tv, or gameboards - but it's also a time to reflect on the many blessings God abundantly gives. One blessing I think about in regards to our church family is the group of people that faithfully serve in different capacities in our children's program. If you have a child in nursery through elementary, you're aware of some of these people, but for those who don't I want to give you an opportunity to know so that you can give them a word of thanks or encouragement.
