Rooted in Christ :: Women's Retreat 2009
Colossians 2:2-3 says: “My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
This verse accurately reflects our Women’s Ministry. Our purpose is to encourage and unite each other in love for the purpose of having a complete understanding of who God truly is, in order that we may be filled with wisdom and knowledge.
The specific verses that we are drawing upon for the Women’s Spring Retreat is a little further down in Colossians 2:6-7 “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
Are you strengthened? Are you living an obedient and thankful life? Could understanding the purpose of spiritual gifts, recognizing the intimacy the Holy Spirit has with you, surrounding yourself with mentors who speak truth in love during the many seasons of your life, discerning and identifying the difference between Satan’s accusing attacks and God’s tender Spirit gently convicting you . . . could these things keep you rooted, strengthen you and then so fulfill you with the realness of God that your life is overflowing with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control?
