Doesn't Evolution Disprove the Bible?
Almost every day in some news story, TV show, or internet article the Bible is mocked as a book of fairy tales. One of world's most powerful "weapons" against scripture has been evolution. And it really is a shame, because the world wields this weapon as if it could eradicate Christianity with a single shot.
Evolution has been called the death knell of Christianity because it “proves” that the Bible could not be true. But if the world were to look in the mirror to see how insignificant evolutionary arguments really are, they'd see themselves holding an empty water pistol.
Even still, Christians can fall prey to the realistic looking counterfeits which resemble scientific data, and it only hurts their faith God’s Holy Word.
Scientists promise that evolution is possible with long enough periods of time…millions and millions of years, and then more millions of years. They claim with absolute certainty that given enough time evolution is possible.
Well, how can we (simple Christians and not scientists) argue with such scientific clergy...I mean credentials? What if we could use something simple to show that not enough time has passed for human evolution to have taken place? We’ll forget for the moment the titanic problems (for evolutionists) of random mutations forming cognitive thinking and the inherent design on display in the human body.
We may not all understand population growth rate algorithms, but we can all understand that the human population grows over time. Well, the current population growth rate is 1.8% annually. This means that the human population will double every 39 years if the growth rate stays the same. This calculation even takes into account famines, wars, infant mortality and disease. Now, this rate is not always constant, but if we grant a considerably conservative growth rate of doubling once every 152 years instead of every 39 years, we can get back to 8 people about 4500 years ago. Was there a monumental event that happened about 4500 years ago that would have limited the population to only 8 people? That’s right, the Global flood. Only 8 people (Noah, his wife, 3 sons, their wives) survived on the ark.
From simple population growth rates, the dates of the Bible are confirmed.
If evolution were true and humans have been around for millions of years, then where are all of the graves and fossils of the trillions and trillions of humans that would have lived? The evidence for evolution is paltry despite the loud and militant shouts from Darwinists.
We can trust God’s word! We can trust the Bible right from the beginning, and we can trust it right to the end when we see the fulfilled promise of Heaven for those who have accepted Christ.
