Ninos de Mexico: Day 5
Who needs a nail gun when you have the hammer! A simple twist on words had everyone laughing as we played Volleyball last night with the boys of Esparanza house. Mitch, one of the interns here, gave Lauren a quick witted compliment after she spiked the ball over the net for a winning point. It was the end of a glorious day here at Nino's. We had started the day in the center of Mexico City visiting the National Cathedral and Presidential Palace. We were all amazed at the grandness of it all. We later headed to Sanborns for lunch, a local restaurant the staff at Nino's takes each group. Afterwards we headed to a market to shop and 'try' and make deals with local vendors. I don't know if any of us made out well but all of us enjoyed the many arts, crafts and other items for sale. We headed back to Ninos around 5:30pm. At Esparanza House we had cake and coffee (some had hot cocoa) while we met and talked with the boys there. All of them were excited to have us see their rooms and play volleyball. The happiness and joy each boy had as we shared time with them was the end of a great and perfect day.
