Peace on Earth...Really?

I know this is kind of a "give away" for the Christmas Eve service, but I thought it would be good to ponder Christmas in light of the message of peace on earth.  We are singing a beautiful version of "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" arranged by Casting Crowns for the service, complete with an "angel choir".  Last night we had our worship team practice and as usual the band did an outstanding job.  But, it was our "angel" choir that got to me.  They really inspired me to remember what the message of this song is about...when the ladies and girls repeat "peace on earth...goodwill to men"....I heard them saying "don't look for the stuff of this world to bring you peace because it will not...real peace is the eternal kind that we find in our relationship with God through the Savior, Jesus Christ.  As the "angels" sang last night, their part became the "heartbeat" of the song...it really drew me to that promise...

I pray you will let that promise draw you closer to the Savior this month...and if you have trouble with that on your own, maybe our "angel choir" at our Christmas Eve service will help point you straight to Him.
