Women's Retreat 2010
At our women's retreat, Still, starting to stop...., God was moving in the ladies of LCC in an amazing way! During this time of retreat, the ladies were encouraged to take time to stop in the midst of life and focus on the One who gave us life. We want to share with you comments from some of the ladies who went on the Prayer Labyrinth during their free time Saturday afternoon.
“I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. My soul will boast in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together.” Ps. 34:1-3
"God has given each of us a place in time and purpose in ‘His-Story’. What an honor to be trusted by Him to fulfill a part of His plan to love His people and grow His kingdom. Not a day should be wasted. Nothing matters except those things that have eternal value – those are the areas I will concern myself with, to be about My Father’s business. "
"What an amazing journey. Thank You, God, for Your incredible mercy and grace through Jesus Christ. I can live life with fullness and complete joy. I don’t deserve it but You gave it anyway, I will go live a life out loud! "
"Thank You Lord for taking me on this journey. Your love, grace and mercy are a constant source of amazement to me. I am feeling so refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to go back and face life. I want my life to leave an impression for You long after I am gone. Guide me in Your ways and thoughts, for I know that my ways are very different from Your ways. I lay my life down as a living sacrifice to You."
"Dear Father, let me put my eyes upon you and when my vision gets blurry, wash away the mess, help me to see you and hold you close to me everyday until we meet face to face. Thank You, I love You."
"God, the one who is wholly devoted to us – Thank You for Your grace and tender mercies. Thank You that You seek me out and bid me come. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God – God in the flesh. I am reminded of what significance Impressions are – I want to be remembered by my devotion to You; that you are my significance."
"Lord, thank you for again reminding me that It’s not about me. Work in me and create in me a new creature . . . wholly devoted – sold out! This experience has shown me the awesome God who I serve. Let me keep that thought in the front of my mind always!"
"Thank You, God, for being My Father – my heavenly Daddy. I thank You for this time away to be able to reflect on You – Your love for me, Your mercy, Your grace, Your sacrifice. You are so worthy of my praise, and I lift up Your name right now and worship You in the beauty of Your creation. What a glorious time to spend with You! Thank You for all of the ladies here, and I pray Your blessing on them. In Jesus’ name."
"Father God, thank You so much for this. This entire experience has been incredible. Papa, right now I can feel that the devil has a hold over my thoughts with this pattern of negativity. God help me to be free from that."
"You are always there, Lord ~Always!!! Bless this time You have prepared for us to meet with you and be renewed or even introduce Yourself to some. To ‘know’ You, Lord. Not just have ‘knowledge’ of You. I have known You and do know You. I just don’t realize it. Thank You for Your constant pursuit of me. Please guide me to share with lost sisters who my God is. You are always the truth and Have never changed. I give it all to you – what’s Your next step for me? This is a journey I now embrace with excitement."
"What an encouragement, Lord, to rest, be still, and reflect on Who You are and who You see me to be. Thank You for Your wondrous creation, God and that You have chosen us to be a part of it. And not only a part, but that You love us so! I pray that You would continue to open my heart to You that I may hear (and heed!) Your still small voice."
"Oh Father, thank You for the time to be still, to shed myself and who I think I am. Thank You for the time to spend before You at Your feet where You show me who I really am and who I was made to be. Father, I don’t want to live always bogged down by the world. I want to be free in You! You paid the highest price for that. Help me to accept it and not try to fix my life on my own. You did it – praise God! I am free. I want to shine for You, to be a light to those who do not know You and encouragement to those who do. God, renew me daily so I may truly follow You and not my clouded perception of You. I want to live a life that inspires others to search for You and seek to know You better. Thank You for holding me close to You and loving Me! May I share that love. May my words and actions shine for You!"
"My Precious Lord, You are ever so wonderful. The peace that you bring into my heart is so calming. The peace within is so great. Thank You for such a wonderful experience of being in Your Presence. I love You, Lord. You are my refuge, shelter and comforter. I Praise you, Lord. I look forward to being in Your kingdom in heaven. Until that time, show me your children."
"My most ‘impressing’ moment of the Labyrinth journey was the impression moment. How will I make an impression on others? And how do I attribute it to God? This just got me to thinking. I’m young. God will take my life and confuse me, and my attitude will attempt to become impatient or frustrated. What kind of impression is that?! Thank You, God!"
"Lord, You are bigger and stronger than anything here on earth! That we would grab Your hand and trust You! That is my heart-felt prayer. Please be honored by my heart and what comes out. You can calm a storm, move a mountain, bring the rain, shine sunlight on our face – we will glorify You no matter what is ahead of us! Bring us to your knees to know You – Be still and know You are God of the storm . . . of the quiet . . . of the creation . . . of the still small voice. Move in a mighty way!"
"The Creator of the Universe – My God, My Abba Father, I stand in complete awe. That You would set all things in place with such detail and creativity. And that you took the time to imagine me and allow me to experience life. You started this journey with me and faithfully have walked each step of the way with me. In You I find hope, security, peace, and rest, regardless of the circumstances of life. Because of Your great sacrifice I have an abundant life – real life. I am complete, I am full, I am satisfied. Troubles and concerns come and I have a King awaiting to take them. I don’t have to spend my energy fretting – I get to cast them all on You. My load is light. My joy is much. I rejoice in You and am overwhelmed by Your love and power. Here I am. Use me, O god, to further Your kingdom and to bring You glory. You alone are worthy."
"As I crossed over the scary boards across the scary ditch, it was at that moment that I heard, ‘You must trust Me when you are afraid. I will get you across the things you fear in your life. I am with you.’"
