Ninos de Mexico - Day 6
Hola greetings from Ninos!
What a day we have had! We woke up this morning after spending two fun filled days with Tawney Offet. Tawney is a member of LCC, and this summer she is interning here at Ninos in Casa Agape. Her roles range from watching cartoons with the 15 kiddos to bedtime prayers with each one. It has been such a blessing to be able to watch Tawney interact with all the kids and because we have been working at Agape all week, we have been able to witness God shining through her. Continue to pray for Tawney as she serves in this place that needs so much love.
Anyways, today we really had to put our efforts in high gear to get all the projects done due to the fact that it was our last day to work. On the roofing project, God really came through and kept the drizzling rain to a minimum. The men along with Amy and Pam, were able to replace all the water tanks and finish the sealant on the roof (I assume this prevents leaks...). Inside, the rest of us ladies were able to finish paiting the two rooms with the assistance of many of the girls. Let's just say too much help can be destructive :) Although we had to ask them to let us finish, the smiles that shone when the rooms were completed were pricless. After we cleaned up and said our goodbyes to the kids, we went to Casa Bethel for the afternoon lunch. After receiving the grand tour of all the boys' rooms, we sat down to a fabulous meal. Following lunch a soccer game broke out and just to spice things up, rain began to pour. What a fun time they had out there! Rain+Mud= Filthy boys (oh, and Andy, Greg, Jeff, Fro, and Stephanie)! After everyone cleaned up from outside, it was time to head back to the Genesis house, and how we ended up with 19 people in a 15 passenger van is beyond my knowledege. Only by the grace of God did we arrive back all in one piece. To finish off the day, Andy encouraged all of us to be confident in who we are in Christ by how we live and honor His name.
God has been working a lot this week in Ninos and I just ask for constant prayers for the kids, the staff, and for safety as they strive to live for the Kingdom of Christ! Thank you so much for reading and for your support for what is going on here!
