LCC Sabbatical Plan
Longview Christian Church has a desire to honor those committed to vocational kingdom service with rest and renewal. Full time pastoral staff becomes eligible after seven years of continued service for a sabbatical. Though a sabbatical is meant to be inherently restful, the purpose of a sabbatical is to be more than just time off.
The elders and Lead Minister will work with the candidate to develop a plan no later than 3 months in advance of the sabbatical. This will include a general schedule of events, estimated costs, and a stipend request if desired. The Elders will develop a plan to come alongside the staff member in prayer, encouragement, and other help. This staff and elder plan is to ensure that all responsibilities of the staff person are taken care of, that a course is plotted to achieve the heart of a sabbatical, and that stipend funds can be secured.

2025 Sabbatical Schedule
Mike Skelton: Mike will be on a 6-week sabbatical from February 24, 2025 - April 5, 2025. During this time Mike's Lead Minister responsibilities will be shared among several elders and others including the preaching role.
Troy Bayne: Troy will be on a 6-week sabbatical from May 22, 2025 - July 2, 2025. Troy's role as Community Minister will be shared among several LCC leaders during his time away.
